Birthdays

Overview

Birthdays is a simple app that lets you add birthdays for friends and family! You can view birthdays in a month calendar and in a simple list, and customize the appearance of your app. Easily track all of your friends' birthdays, in one place! You can also import and export birthdays and print a list of birthdays as well.

Adding Birthdays

To add a birthday, click the add birthday button on the bottom. Birthdays are displayed by month, starting with the current month.

Displays

You can customize the display by clicking the '1' and '2' buttons, just like on many other apps. You can also go to settings to change the primary and secondary displays. The primary display is the birthday list, and can show a simpler list, great for seeing many birthdays at once, or a full list, with more detailed information. The secondary display is the month calendar and can be made smaller or hidden. You can also show or hide the searchbar and the month headings. You can also sort birthdays starting with the current month, or the beginning of the year.

Highlight Close Birthdays

Check this setting and enter a number of days to highlight birthdays that are that many days or less away from today.

Customize your display as you want (change the primary display, show/hide month headings, start at beginning of year or current month) and then click the print button at the bottom (or hit ctrl+P) to print your birthdays.

Import and Export Birthdays

n the settings, you'll find two text input fields for import and export. To share your data, you can copy the text from the export field and send it to a friend, allowing them to import it. Alternatively, you can copy the link containing the birthdays. You can then either paste this data into the import field or open the link directly to import the birthdays. Each birthday has a unique ID, so you can have multiple people with the same name and birthday. If you import birthdays that already exist (with the same ID), your original entries will be preserved, avoiding any unwanted duplicates.

Leap Days

Birthdays on leap days (Feb 29) are treated as Mar 1 if it's a non leap year and Feb 29 if it is a leap year. Their age will be counted in how many years since their birthday, not how many Feb 29s since their birthday.
